    The cafeteria at Franklin Middle School may not be Greensboro, Miss., circa 1960, but around noon most days there is a definite color line. “[The kids] section themselves off at lunch. The white kids sit with the white kids, the black kids sit with the black kids,” said language arts teacher Jeffrey Schroeder. “I just went in the lunchroom one day and saw them and saw the way they sat, and thought ... ‘We need to change this.’ ”
